Robot Man
Mark Scalese, Fairfield, CT, Documentary Short, 15:00

Tim Intravia is a young actor who supports himself by performing as a silver robot statue/mime on the streets of New York City. 'Robot Man' follows his daily routine -- interacting with pedestrians, contending with the police, and competing with other street performers for the attention and spare change of tourists. It pays the bills, but he dreams of working as a legitimate actor in films or on stage or TV.

Hanging Downtown
Ted Fisher, New York, NY, Documentary Short, 14:58

Strapped into a straitjacket, tied up with rope, and hung upside down, Jason Escape risks his life and his pride to make Boston audiences see the world his way.

And: A Fragmented Biography
Amos Posner, New York, NY, Documentary Short, 13:22

Focusing on a performance piece in which actor Ryan Good randomly reads slips of paper with personal stories, observations, confessions, and opinions, the movie inter-cuts performances from public locations all around New York. Ryan and his cohort Mike Puckett battle winter weather, unwelcoming audiences and the authorities.

Warm Beer Lousy Food
Dena Greenbaum, New York, NY, Documentary Feature, 50:00

Warm Beer, Lousy Food is the untold story of America's first comedy club, the Crazy Country Club in Brooklyn, and its founder and self-proclaimed nut, Lou Burdo. The film includes rare footage of the club throughout its nearly 50 year history and testimonials from the founder, staff, and patrons, breathing life back into a storied institution that, despite having been shuttered long ago, continues to live on for the many people who were forever changed by this wonderful and crazy place.
